Six months and counting. :)

Finally, something permanent. :)

Feb.16, I’m marking the date and giving thanks. My 6th month on my dream job. kewl. :)

This is a snapshot of my post 6months ago, the day before I left AsiaBrew in Pampanga. Soreeee, i felt terrible doing that job.

It was the best decision I’ve ever made. Seriously, they say

Wag kang lilipat kung wala kang lilipatan. Wag kang aalis kung wala kang siguradong pupuntahan.

I stayed there for only a month. In two weeks time, I filed my resignation, effective August 18 but they adjusted the effectivity to August 15. It was a short wait if you’ll see it, but damn, those days were the longest UNPRODUCTIVE days I ever had. soreee ulit. (I’m just stating facts, these are more than opinion).

Thanks to Lei, she told me RFM was hiring for a researcher. It was a calling. HAHAHA. I sent my resume. Before I left Cabuyao, RFM already informed me for an interview in Pioneer. :)

Ganun. :)

When my boss interviewed me, she was already telling me the cons of the job.

I waited for weeks for the result, no updates regarding on my application. I was never losing hope. Saktong may vacancy din sa Bounty, I applied for that. I was interviewed at Taipan sometime in early August. It was in the morning, the HR Officer told me to have lunch and be back at 1:30 for the exam.

Wala akong mapuntahan, at eto pa, wala akong cash kundi yung 100 dollars ko. Totoo. So stupid to have not brought any Philippine money but so lucky I have that $100 bill.

And then finally, I went to Shakey’s El Pueblo. Sobrang memorable ang nung branch na yuuuun, when the waitress gave my order (bunch of lunch), I received a text message. It was from Ms. Rose, the RFM HR! :)

Congratulations Ms. Catamora. You were the chosen candidate for the position.. Please fill-up blah, blah, blah,

Sobrang saya ko! :))

Pero I still took the exam, andun na ako eh. At pagsakay ko pa lang sa Victory Bus pabalik ng Pampanga, the HR form Bounty texted me for the next interview. :)

But I never came for that.

At yun, I started the six months of my dream job.

The most challenging six months of my ‘career’ (kuno, HAHA).

For these last months, my everyday routine has been full of questions.

‘Jake, paano to?’

‘Bakit ganito?’

‘Asan yung ganito?’

‘Anong gagawin kapag ganito?’

‘Ma’am, may tanong po ako. Paano po kapag?’

Sooo many questions, countless questions, some were simple to answer, others needed a one-on-one explanation. And I’m too blessed Ma’am Joy and Jake are so patient in teaching me the ABCs of R and D. And both of them could tolerate ALL my mistakes.

Given the fact that they’ve been doing good in the department kahit na dalawa lang sila, nakakaintimidate.

My fascination about how a researcher in the food industry earns a living turned into some deep falling-inlove thing, my job had to fall inlove with me, too.

HAHA. :))

I met many people. As in ang dami nila. Account Managers of international flavor companies, some icons in the food industry, Country Managers, Technical Specialists, Brand Managers, from simple sales representatives up to Company Owners. Whoa, calling cards won’t even fit in the holder I have. I met people who developed this and this and all I ever reacted was ‘Ang galing nila!’ and all I ever felt was ‘Ako din!’

Thank you Lord for the experience.

In six months time, all the things I learned in the industry are waaay more than what my four years of college degree educated me.
